Big Brother couple given the elbow

With their stunning good looks and sky-high teenage libidos, Channel 4 bosses were rubbing their sweaty paws together at the prospect of 18-year-old couple Melisa Naya Minton and Daniel Lewis entering the Big Brother house.
According to the Daily Star, Big Brother bigwigs had been hoping the loved-up pair would shore up the ratings with a romance to rival the saucy shenanigans of old-timers Marco Marconi and Lisa Appleton back in 2008.
However, when the teenage couple’s relationship hit the rocks shortly before they were set to go into hiding ahead of the show’s big launch night on June 4, the couple admirably owned up to their Big Brother masters – only to be unceremoniously dumped from the show.
“We’re gutted,” sobbed a distraught Melisa. “We thought we’d be up front with them and tell the truth – but all they’ve done is dropped us. I still think it would have been great TV to put us in the house even though we’ve broken up.” Hmmm… we’re inclined to agree with you, Melisa – providing your split wasn’t too amicable.
“We never confirm or deny who’s going in the house until the launch night,” sniffed a haughty Big Brother spokesman last night – which roughly translates as an admission of guilt in our book.
It just goes to show that in the BB house, honesty is very rarely the best policy. This summer’s three months of Big Brother fun kicks off on Channel 4 on June 4. See you there.
